Our Story
From long-distance phone calls and weekend drives to sharing a home and building a life together, we’re excited to celebrate what comes next with all of you.
After college, the distance was finally behind us. We moved into an in-law apartment at Sarah’s mom’s house before finding our own apartment in Halfmoon, where we still live today. Along the way, we adopted two black kittens, Micah and Miles. Since then, summer evenings often include a walk to Hayner’s for ice cream, while football season means cheering on the Cowboys and Vikings.
Nathan later planned a proposal at the Schenectady Rose Garden with help from Brittany and Sue. What Sarah believed was a Fourth of July outing and couples photoshoot ended with Nathan proposing beneath a rose-covered trellis. After Sarah said yes, we celebrated with our closest family and friends at Brittany and Lucas’s house.
Our story began long-distance, with Sarah living in Florida and Nathan in New York. A mutual friend connected us, and after nearly two months of FaceTime dates and long phone calls, we met in person on Sarah’s 21st birthday. Shortly after, we had our first dinner date at Bua, where we talked over sushi—still one of our favorite meals to share.
When Sarah moved back to New York, Nathan was attending college in Syracuse while Sarah continued her education in Albany. We spent the next few years making the two-hour drive nearly every weekend, whether we were exploring new places, studying together, or simply catching up on time apart.
